Rising with the Tide

The school song of Pinglan Academy. Its first stanza was originally written by a student moved by King Wusu's shooting of the tide, and was passed by word of mouth among the students. After reading it, the master, stirred by his own many years living away from home without returning, adapted King Qian's line "The flowers are blooming on the field paths; you may return at your leisure" to add a second stanza. When the song was finished it was presented to Luo Yin, who read it and said that shooting the tide shows King Qian's ability, and returning at leisure shows King Qian's benevolence; so it was made the school song.
